About Me
Hey there! I’m Colleen!
I’m a writer and screenwriter based out of the Chicago Suburbs. I am currently attending graduate school at DePaul University’s School of Cinematic Arts pursuing my MFA in screenwriting.
I write primarily fantasy and am driven to bring more female voices and protagonists to the fantasy space. As a novelist at heart, my dream is to write book series, turn them into compelling screenplays, and then see them be made into films and TV series!
But it’s not just that. I am a committed member of the Bookstagram community and hope to help more aspiring writers get their novels published and brought to screen as well!
As a breast cancer survivor, I crafted my unique motto “Fight for the Fairytale; it does exist” to encompass and motivate everything I do. Life is too short, so we need to live boldly and pursue our greatest dreams just like our favorite characters do. If they can fight through every struggle thrown their way, then so can we.
When not focused on writing, I love to weight lift with my fiancé, travel the world, play D&D with my friends, and spend time with my rescue dogs.
